My Quilts

My quilts are a blend of tradition and contemporary techniques. I use my sewing machine for most of my work, incorporating some handwork.

I use hand painted and dyed as well as purchased 100% cotton fabrics. I sometimes incorporate silk fabric, beads, yarns and other embellishments into my quilts.

Many of my quilts are scrap quilts, made in a size suitable for the walls. I use all of the colors and fabrics that I love in a piece that is both vibrant and soothing. In much of my work I incorporate the use of exposed raw edges in the seams as well as on the surface. The effect is exciting as it brings texture and an untraditional aspect to my work.
